“THEREFORE PRAY”

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

Matthew 6:9-13 KJV

“After this manner therefore pray”

Before the Father on bended knee

Pray without ceasing

With thanksgiving

“Our Father which art in heaven”

Dear Abba, Father, and King on Zion

Adopted we praise you forever

Our hope in Jesus as fellow heirs

“Hallowed be thy name”

Name above every name

A strong tower always the same

We rejoice in your holy name

“Thy Kingdom come”

Behold your kingdom is at hand

With power and great glory comes the Son of Man

Lead us to the promised land

“Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”

Lord, in everything please take the lead

Thank you for providing for our every need

By your blood we are set free

“Give us this day our daily bread”

Christ Jesus is the bread of life

There is no greater sacrifice

You are the way, the truth and the life

“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors”

If we confess our sins, you are faithful to forgive us

Cleanse us from all unrighteousness

May we forgive one another as Christ forgave us

“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil”

Preserve us from trouble, surround us with shouts of deliverance

Through faith we are saved by grace

Equip us with your holy armor every day

“For thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory for ever”

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

O King of kings, your glory is set above the heavens!

Come now, Lord Jesus!

Amen!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
