THE SON OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings.”

Malachi 4:2 ESV

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

How mighty are his wonders, how great his signs

The saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom

To Jesus, the name above every name, draw nigh

By faith we eagerly await the hope of righteousness

For us, God made his Son to be sin who knew no sin

Believe and be justified through faith in Christ Jesus

So that we might become the righteous of God in Him

A righteous person has great power through prayer

Behold, Jesus who bore our sins in his body on the tree

May we die to sin and live to righteousness forever

We are saved by grace and by his wounds we are healed!

Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits

He who forgives all our sins, arose with healing in his wings!

God crowns us with love and mercy, His eternal gifts!

The steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
