“LIFT UP YOUR HANDS”

“Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord! Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord! May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth!”

Psalm 134:1-3 ESV

Come and serve the Lord God with fear

May all who love his word draw near

Praise his name, rejoice with trembling

Come into his presence with joyful singing

Serve our Redeemer with all sincerity

How awesome is his holy sanctuary

Be fervent in spirit, not slothful in zeal

Exalting him, before his throne we kneel

Let us serve the Creator of all with gladness

Steadfast is his love and great his faithfulness

May I dwell in his house all the days of my life

Lifting up my hands in praise for his sacrifice

Let my prayer to Jesus be counted as incense

By grace I am saved, gifted his righteousness

I lift my heart and hands to our God in heaven

Maker of heaven and earth and all that is in them

Our hope is in the Lord who keeps faith forever

Worthy is he to receive glory, honor and power

Love and mercy flow from Christ, our Savior

I repent of my sins and trust him forevermore

Great in our midst is the Holy One of Israel

Our Father, the Creator of all things by his will

Shout and sing for joy, O inhabitants of Zion

Salvation has come, behold, the Son of Man!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
