MY SOUL LONGS FOR YOU

“My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. My eyes long for your promise; I ask, “When will you comfort me?””

Psalm 119:81-82 ESV

O God, my mighty rock, my refuge and my fortress!

I find perfect peace, grace and mercy in Christ Jesus!

My salvation comes from you, my soul waits in silence

Restore my soul and lead me in paths of righteousness

You are a lamp to my feet, lighting my way to your word

I no longer wander in darkness but follow the light of life

Waiting for you, O God, hear me, as I look to my risen Lord

May the manner of my life be worthy of the gospel of Christ

My hope is in your word, my eyes long for your promise

You, O Lord, are my strength, my song and my salvation!

I have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus!

At his name may every knee bow to the King on Zion!

Let every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

My soul clings to your righteous right hand that upholds me

I am born again of imperishable seed by your abiding word!

It is the power of salvation to everyone who believes

For your glory, O God our Father!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
