TREASURED POSSESSION

“And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels”

Malachi 3:17 KJV

Jesus is mine and I am his

Heir according to promise

Behold his amazing sacrifice

By his blood he opens blinded eyes

See the Cross on Mount Calvary

Touch his thorny crown of glory

Jesus is the life and the resurrection

I am his unworthy treasured possession

How I long for his glorious return

His love so great, no one could earn

Saved by grace, he calls me his own!

The Lord is making up his jewels for his crown!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
