“THE GLORY DUE HIS NAME”

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.”

Psalm 29:2 ESV

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name

Bring a holy offering and come before him

Enter his courts with thanksgiving and praise

For love, his only Son is the propitiation for our sins

By his blood the bonds of sin are burst asunder

From him, through him, and to him are all things

To the Lord Jesus be glory and majesty forever

Mercy, grace and love are the gifts he brings

Oh come, let us worship him and humbly bow down

Exalt the Lord our God, kneeling before his throne

At the foot of the Cross find a glorious unfading crown

For there is only One who can change a heart of stone

Praise the Lord with a heart of flesh and with every breath

Sing praises to the end of the earth, sing to him a new song

Come all who labor and are heavy laden, he will give you rest

In the arms of our risen Redeemer is where we ever belong

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
