“TRUST IN THE LORD”

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.” Psalm 125:1 ESV

Trust in the Lord God with your whole heart

Jesus died on the Cross so that we might live

We are saved by grace, our Savior will never part

He is love, whoever abides in love, abides in him

Repent of sin and believe, be saved forevermore

Do not lean on your own earthly understanding

Faith is the blessed assurance of things hoped for

Behold! Mount Zion, the joyful city of our risen King

Along with its desires this dark world is fading away

Whoever does the will of God abides in him forever

There is salvation in no one else, in no other name

His love is perfected in us when we love one another

If you abide in God and his words in you, ask what you wish

The truth we seek is only found in the King of Zion

Jesus gifts us eternal life and we will never perish

No one will snatch us out of his nail-pierced hands!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
