“GREAT IS THE LORD”

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.” Psalm 145:3 ESV

God is the creator of everything, the everlasting Lord

Our Lord is a mighty God, above all gods, a great king

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world

Come into his courts with praise and joyful singing

There is no one like our God, he is holy, awesome in might

His love and mercies never end, great is his faithfulness

Christ Jesus is the light of the world and the light of life

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness

Everything you will ever need to live will be added unto you

Our Lord is all powerful, his understanding beyond measure

The love and mercy and peace of God are abundant and true

He does marvelous and unsearchable things without number

For great is the Lord Jesus Christ and greatly to be praised

His is the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty

Our Great Shepherd and Guardian saves us by amazing grace

Only God knows my thoughts and my heart, transforming me

Call to him and he will answer, telling you great things unknown

Come worship at the throne of our God whose love never ends

Majestic his name, his glory above the heavens, yet he calls me his own

And one day when he calls me home, hallelujah and amen! Amen!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
